Skinner’s love to help all dogs and provide them with the best possible nutrition to suit their needs. When we heard about Elsa’s sad story we decided we had to help and donate some of our Field & Trial Duck & Rice to help aid her recovery.
Elsa, a Bordeaux was discovered by a member of the public curled up in a nature reserve, she was rushed to Yourvets Smethwick where she was assessed by vets. Given a body score of 0.5 out of 5 and weighing just 17.5kg (the minimum for the breed being 45kg) she was severely underweight and malnourished. She was treated by vets and then taken into the care of The Animal House Rescue, a small Birmingham based rescue charity, taking in unwanted, abused and abandoned animals.
The work they do is amazing, giving the animals a full MOT before finding them their forever homes. Instead of using kennels they operate by using foster homes, so they can monitor the animals progress and behaviour in a home environment.
Skinner’s Duck & Rice will provide all the nutrients Elsa needs to assist her recovery. Elsa is a true warrior and is still fighting a battle, but her weight has remarkably improved now to 35kg.
